"I'm Not Stealing Or Robbing”: Timmy Hung To Netizens Who Say He’s Tarnishing Dad Sammo Hung’s Reputation By Doing Live Stream Sales

He’s making an honest living, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.

While live streaming has become a promising career, not to mention really lucrative side hustle for many celebs these days, some Chinese netizens seem to not think highly of live streamers.

And 70-year-old martial arts legend Sammo Hung’s son, Timmy Hung, 48, who’s been dabbling in live stream auctions for a while now, sadly became a target of such netizens.

Timmy and wife Janet Chow during their recent live stream

Recently, Timmy and his actress wife Janet Chow hosted a live stream peddling affordable household items such as a 4.90 yuan (S$1) mosquito repellent watch for kids and a 9.90 yuan (S$2) sunblock spray.

However, despite having over 750,000 followers on Douyin, Timmy's live stream only managed to garner some 2,000 views, which is really low compared to his fellow live streamers

That led to some very nosy viewers expressing their concern over Timmy's live stream career.

"Is this more lucrative than filming?" asked one netizen.

Some netizens even said that Timmy is Sammo's son so he shouldn't be doing live stream sales 'cos it would "tarnish" his dad's reputation.

"Does your father Sammo Hung know you're selling things on live streams?," questioned one such netizen.

We're sure Sammo knows about his son's live stream endeavours and is very proud of him

That line clearly hit a nerve in Timmy, who responded: "I'm not stealing or robbing when I'm doing live stream sales, my father is really supportive. I'm working hard to bring food to the table for my family. My dad is not going to scold me," he retorted.

And it's not like live stream e-commerce is Timmy's only source of income anyway.

The actor reportedly owns a cafe, a fashion brand as well as a production company in China, and is also busy creating short videos and, yes, hosting live streams.
