Jacky Wu Spent S$19.6mil To Be His Soon-To-Be Married Daughter’s Upstairs Neighbour... Without Telling Her
Guess Sandy Wu will have absolutely no excuse not to visit her old man regularly.
Taiwanese host Jacky Wu’s eldest daughter Sandy Wu, 31, is getting married later this month, so naturally, she and her interior designer husband-to-be have been busy looking for a home.
However, their house-hunting adventure came with an unexpected surprise.

Sandy’s wedding will be on January 29
On Monday (Jan 17), Jacky and Sandy held a press conference to mark the sixth anniversary of Super Entourage, the variety show they host together.
During the event, Sandy revealed that she and her fiancé have already found an apartment, which is currently in the midst of being furnished and decorated.
Here comes the hilarious part: It was only after getting the place that she discovered that her father had bought two units right above hers. It lead her to jokingly (we think) call him a “terrifying lover” 'cos you know, the Chinese believe that a dad is his daughter's lover in their previous life.

He can’t bear to be away from his little girl
Sandy revealed that Jacky, 59, had originally advised her against getting a place in that area before offering to go and check it out himself.
“In the end, he secretly bought units upstairs!” she exclaimed.
The well-connected Jacky shared that since he’s friends with someone from the construction company that built the condo, he was able to get a good price, namely, NT$400mil (S$19.6mil) for two units.
He also helped to cover some of Sandy’s expenses as a wedding gift.
According to Jacky, the building is located on Dunhua Road in Taipei and each unit, which is about 440 sqm, is worth more than NT$200mil (S$9.8mil).

Sandy will have no excuse not to visit her old man
Instead of being excited at the thought of being neighbours with her dad, Sandy admitted that she was so furious when she found out that she “went home and cried”.
She added that Jacky had sneakily convinced her to install electronic door locks and then, when that was done, immediately asked her for the password.
He even asked her if she could install a fire escape pole between their units so he can easily slide downstairs into her apartment (we’re pretty sure they’re pulling everyone’s leg at this point).
While it sounds like Sandy is really not pleased with Jacky (and that Jacky really sounds like a helicopter dad), this is the same woman who not too long ago claimed she would “throw away” her kids if they resembled her father, so we’d take her rants with a pinch of salt.

We’re sure she loves her dad
