Ken Chu, Who Suffers From A Hereditary Disease, Will Wait For Medical Technology To Improve Before Having Kids

The former F4 member says there is a one-in-eight chance that his kids may inherit the condition.

Taiwanese star and former F4 member Ken Chu, 43, and his wife, Chinese actress Vivian Han, 41, are one of those sweet couples who have no qualms about sharing their love for each other.

However, things were not always a bed of roses for them.

On a recent episode of Chinese reality show My Happy Life, Ken revealed that when they first started dating in 2015, he was very hesitant about their relationship due to their very different personalities.

“There was just too much friction and there were many times when I considered giving up. It was too tiring. It took a lot of time and effort to make things work, but she refused,” he said, before tearing up.

“She cried and said that we should not give up. If there are problems, we will work on it. That was the first time I realised that she is serious. She is not giving up on me and she really wants to have a family with me. From that moment, I began to reflect on myself,” he added.

After dating for a year, they tied the knot in Bali in 2016.

No kids for them at the moment

When the host asked the couple about starting a family, Ken said that they would wait for medical technology to improve before considering.

As he suffers from fibromyalgia, a hereditary disease that causes pain and fatigue, there is a one-in-eight chance that his kids may inherit the condition. Hence, they have decided not to have any children.

“I would love to have kids but at the moment, this is all we can do. Anyway, she’s like a kid too,” said Ken, pointing to Vivian.
