Kim Kardashian Consulted Therapists Before Introducing Boyfriend Pete Davidson To Her Children

Kim Kardashian consulted therapists before introducing Pete Davidson to her kids.

On the advice of her therapists, the 41-year-old reality TV star — who shares North, nine, Saint, six, Chicago, four, and Psalm, three, with ex-husband Kanye West — waited half a year before introducing her brood to her boyfriend, former Saturday Night Live star Peter Davidson, whom she's been dating since October 2021.

Speaking on The Today Show, Kardashian said: "I definitely wanted to wait six months, and that was the marker. I asked Kourtney — who has been through it all — and consulted with a few therapists and friends who have been through it."

Kourtney, 43, is mother to Mason, 12, Penelope, nine, and Reign, seven, with ex-partner Scott Disick and is now married to Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker.

Kardashian added that "different" arrangements work for everyone but claimed that people just have to "do what feels right" when it comes to introducing children to a new partner.

She explained: "I think it's different for everyone; different things work for different people, and you just have to do what feels right and try to be as respectful and cautious as possible."

A recent episode of The Kardashians saw the SKIMS founder's children being picked up in a fire truck by their dad and she noted that "no matter what", she will always want her children to be around West.

She said: "No matter what we're going through, I always want my kids to be around their dad as much as possible and just have their mornings with Dad and get dropped off at school." 

Earlier this month, People reported that Davidson has "slowly been getting to know" Kardashian's four kids.

"Kim trusts Pete with her kids," an insider told the outlet. "He is starting to spend time with them without her. She wants her kids to bond with Pete."

The source also noted that there is always security when Davidson takes the kids out, saying, "Kim's relationship with Pete is very strong. They are talking about the future. It's very important to Kim that her kids get along with Pete.

"They never tried to rush anything. He has slowly been getting to know them. The kids love having Pete around. He is a fun guy. He plays with them and gives them a lot of attention. It makes Kim very happy that they all get along."
