On Mother’s Day this year, Taiwanese supermodel Lin Chiling, 48, took to her Instagram to share a picture with her mum Wu Tzu-mei. She also wrote a really sweet caption, where she shared that she misses her mum even more after becoming a mother herself.

Chiling wrote: For their families, mothers may choose to seal away their youth. We are able to become the people that we are today ‘cos of how we were brought up when we were younger. After becoming a mother, I miss my mum even more.”

She went on to muse about life as a mother: “Thankful to [those] who made me a mother, to allow me to realise that I can give even more of myself than I originally believed. It will always be way more than I imagined, and because of my baby, I can look at the world from a different perspective, to relearn everything.”

Chiling, who tied the knot with Japanese popstar Akira in 2019, has a one-year-old son. It was previously reported that Chiling’s mum has been suffering from Alzheimer’s since 2015.

Many netizens left comments praising both Chiling and her mum for their beauty, with a number commenting that Chiling’s mum really resembles Korean actress Son Ye Jin. Others shared that Chiling had inherited her mum’s beauty.
