Liu Wen Cheng's Agent Says The Taiwanese Singer, 70, Died From A Heart Attack In November 2022

He passed away at home a week before his birthday and his body was found by his sister the next morning.

Taiwanese former singer Liu Wen Cheng has died at the age of 70.

The reclusive singer rose to fame in the '70s and ‘80s, and was once hailed as the ‘First Ancestor of Idols’ for the impact he left on the music industry.

Recently, Wen Cheng’s agent, Xia Yushun, revealed that the singer passed away last November.

His cause of death was a heart attack, with Yushun sharing that Wen Cheng died a week before his birthday.

He was alone at home then, and his body was only discovered by his younger sister the next morning.

Yushun also sharing that he has felt as if something was amiss in December last year, and eventually made a call to Wen Cheng’s family, who then told Yushun that the star had passed away.

Rest in peace.

Wen Cheng, who bagged three Golden Bell Awards for Best Male Singer before the age of 30, announced his intentions to focus on backstage work at the prime of his career in 1983.

Then, eight years later, in 1991, he moved to America, essentially retiring from showbiz. He remained under the radar after that and was never seen in public.

According to reports, Wen Cheng, who hailed from a wealthy family, was living a comfortable life in New York City as a property investor.

In 2020, Wen Cheng made headlines after netizens claimed to have found a recent photo of the singer-actor.

Unfortunately, the picture was soon revealed to have been put through an app’s ageing filter, and was totally fake.
