Do you need a rug that looks like an Ikea receipt on your living room floor? If the answer is yes , you need to make a beeline for an Ikea store the minute this collection launches in Singapore. Anticipation is red hot and sky high for this collab, which sees Virgil Abloh, the founder of insanely popular luxury streetwear label Off-White and artistic direction of LV's menswear collection, putting his signature quirky street art touches and iconic quotation marks on Ikea furniture and home accessories.

The 15-piece collection launches in the US on Nov 1, and while release dates for Singapore are yet to be announced, we suspect it will be around the same time, and that the collection will only be available in the two Ikea stores here, and not online, limited probably to one piece per design per customer.

Here's your first look at the capsule collection.

1 of 10 It's all about irony, and a little bit of inception

Is it art or is it trash? One of the most hyped pieces in the collection is a low-pile rug that looks like a torn receipt from Ikea. The receipt is for... Receipt Rug. Woah, meta much? It's going for US$99. Says Abloh of this piece, which can be laid on the floor or hung on a wall, The receipt is a trademark in itself that has been transformed into art.

2 of 10 Furniture that makes you think

Your usual Ikea furniture tends to be minimalist, functional and a little bit fun, but not too crazy, and the Markerad collection takes that and injects a generous dash of weird, wacky and wonderful, elevating mere home decor into... art.

The round white wall clock, for example, will probably be one of the most popular items, just because it has the word TEMPORARY” on the glass, casting a shadow on the clock that moves depending on the light. Time is fleeting and ever-changing, and our hours and minutes are just temporary? Gotta love furniture that makes you ponder your existence.

3 of 10 A lit Mona Lisa

How about the Mona Lisa as an LED-lit wall hanging, which can also charge your phone? Not sure how it works, but we'll know come November.

4 of 10 "Cool"

Abloh's signature quotation marks make an appearance on an iteration of the Ikea shopping bag, cheekily captioned Sculpture . FYI, the Markerad collection was designed for millennial homeowners, albeit those who have time to queue outside an Ikea shop to get their hands on the pieces.

5 of 10 "Wet Grass"

Another striking rug, ironically captioned Wet Grass. Says Abloh, There’s always an underlying message in my creations. A little bit of irony – and a human connection. BTW, the last item he designed for Ikea, a carpet with the words Keep Off on it, sold out in minutes earlier this year and is now going for thousands online.

  • 6 of 10 Just that touch of whimsy

The Markerad collection will be your chance to get your hands on a Virgil Abloh piece at a fraction of the prices of his usual luxe fashion offerings.

  • 7 of 10 Will this be flat-packed?

This glass door cabinet is going for US$199 and features a red nail as a handle, putting an object which is associated with the assembly of a cabinet in a slightly off location, and thus raising this cabinet to cult status, probably.

  • 8 of 10 Do you need these in your life?

    Markerad sheets and mirror.

  • 9 of 10 "Homework"

More items you never knew you needed.

  • 10 of 10 "Daybed"

How excited are you for this collection? We'll be reporting the launch date as soon as Ikea Singapore confirms it. Meanwhile, mark your faves in the Markerad collection.
