The romance, the OTT plots, the impossibly handsome and devoted male protagonists, the porelessly-perfect female leads, and the fashion, oh, the fashion. Besides the amazing plot, the sizzling chemistry between the leads and, um, Hyun Bin, here’s another reason CLOY was one of the most-loved K-dramas of 2020 — the fashion. When female lead Se-ri is not in North Korea making flowery curtains and ajumma outfits look like retro fashion is the biggest Spring/Summer 2020 trend, she’s back in Seoul looking galboss-sharp and lowkey sexy with her power suits. Last but not least, the recently-concluded K-drama hit, Start-Up, starring young entrepreneurs in South Korea’s fictitious Silicon Valley, called Sandbox. Dal-mi is not just the love interest of the two male leads, but also interests the audience with her dress sense, which is sorta like girl boss with a hint of cute. She wears a lot of silk chiffon tops that accentuate her waist, as well as stylish trenches, peplum blazers and oversized blazers. Add a Dior bag or two (we spotted the Dior Bobby, Dior Lady and Dior Book Tote) and that Lancome lipstick, and she’s all set as the Sandbox fashion darling.
