If you belong in the latter group, you'll be pleased to know that TripAdvisor has just released the results of its 2020 Travellers’ Choice Awards.

Winners of the awards, which is into its 18th year, are decided based on the quality and quaintiy of the millions of reviews, opinions and ratings collected on TripAdvisor in 2019, prior to the pandemic,” according to a press release by the company.

Keep this info in mind if you’re looking to add to your travel bucket list for when it's safe to travel again. The top hotel in Asia (and the world!) is the contemporary chic Viroth’s Hotel (above) in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Ise Sueyoshi restaurant in Nishiazabu in Japan claimed the top spot for best restaurant in Asia. Meanwhile, Singapore Airlines is the top airline in Asia.

The Fullerton Bay Hotel (above) emerged as the #1 hotel in Singapore for the second year in a row. Placing second is The Fullerton Hotel, and Shangri-La Hotel takes the third spot. Marina Bay Sands came out tops in the Most Saved Hotels category, a new award that tracks bucket-list properties that travellers saved in 2019. Park Grand London Kensington in the UK is the runner-up in this category, followed by The Kayon Resort by Pramana in Indonesia.
