McDonald’s Launches Spicy Peri Peri McShaker Fries To Ring In 2022

Last year, McDonald's shook up New Year's Eve with mala-flavoured McShaker fries. This year, it's bringing NYE fireworks to your palate with a new limited-edition McShaker flavour — Peri Peri, aka African bird’s eye chilli. Ooh.

The Peri Peri McShaker seasoning with fries (from $3.50 a la carte) will be available at McDonald’s restaurants and via delivery from today (Dec 30).

According to the fast food chain, the seasoning blend with paprika, parsley flakes and “other herbs and spices” boasts “shiok heat and citrusy undertones” (traditional peri peri sauce is usually made tangy with lemon and vinegar). You can also top up 80 cents to add the McShaker fries to your Extra Value Meal.

Try it with a McSpicy

For folks who order “da la” (extra spicy) for their mala xiang guo, McDonald’s is also offering a McSpicy and Peri Peri McShaker fries meal from $8.50.

 



You can Peri Peri-fy your Chicken McCrispy too

Other than McSpicy, there’s also a double deal for the Chicken McCrispy and McSpicy, where you can get two upsized Extra Value Meals plus peri peri fries from $17.70. But do note that the McCrispy fried chicken is not available at McDonald’s Shell Tampines, Shell Hougang, Shell Havelock, Clementi Avenue 3, Parklane and Tampines Kiosk.



Mocha Frappé to douse the fire

And in case all the spicy food gets too hot to handle, McDonald’s is also offering a limited-time upgrade for its Mocha Frappé at $1 for any upsized meal order after breakfast hours. Very thoughtful.



McCafé double stamps

From Dec 30, 2021 to Feb 23, 2022, you also earn two stamps - instead of one - with every purchase of an a la carte McCafé coffee. Every five stamps earns you a free coffee, so you can redeem your freebie after three coffee runs.
