Natalie Tong Posts Rare Family Picture On Her 41st Birthday

The TVB actress once made known that she’s never celebrating her birthday again after her mother passed away in 2009.

Hongkong actress Natalie Tong turned 41 on Tuesday (May 3) and to celebrate the occasion, she posted photos of her birthday celebration with her family.

“Happiness only happens in a moment, [it’s] worth seizing,” she captioned the pic, which sees her with her father, her brother, her sister-in-law, her niece and a woman whom netizens say could be her sister-in-law’s mother.

While it is not uncommon for celebs to share photos of their family during such joyous occasions, for Natalie, it's been a long time coming.

When Natalie's mum passed away in 2009, the actress made the decision to not celebrate her own birthday again.

“I get very emotional on that day, because I get reminded that that’s the day my mum gave birth to me, and it makes me recall many things," said Natalie then.

"That’s why it’s not for me to have birthday celebrations, I don’t want my family to see me extremely happy one moment, and suddenly sad the next, so I’d rather spend [the day] myself," she added.

This year, Natalie also celebrated her birthday with her showbiz family, Jazz Lam and Stephen Wong, both of whom played her brothers in TVB drama A Fistful of Stances

The trio, along with Kenneth Ma and Kevin Cheng, have remained tight after filming the show in 2010 and have been celebrating their birthdays together since.
