Netizens Say Hawick Lau, 47, Looks “Older” Than His 77-Year-Old Father Lau Dan Now
Now isn’t that just taking things way too far?
There are a number of celebs who have been subjected to plastic surgery rumours throughout their careers (thanks to their supposedly ever-changing looks), and one of them is Hongkong actor Hawick Lau.
Over the years, there have been many speculations that the 47-year-old has gone under the knife multiple times as he is said to look very different compared to his days as a fresh-faced TVB star.
Some have even taken his seven-year-old daughter Noemie’s appearance as ‘proof’ that Hawick’s had work done… which is pretty unnecessary and cruel, in our opinion, but we digress.
While all that unflattering gossip hasn’t stopped Hawick’s career from flourishing in China, where he’s had no trouble picking up loads of leading roles and variety gigs, people still can’t stop picking on his looks.
When he attended the Mid-Autumn Festival Concert in the Greater Bay Area 2021 back in September, netizens pointed out that his face looks different again, and that he now resembles a mix between Tony Leung, 59, and Leon Lai, 54.
Three months later, the comments have become a lot more scathing. Recently, Hawick guested on Chinese travel show Wonderful Journey and promptly got the internet talking about — what else? — how his face has “changed” yet again.
This time, however, he was described as having a “stiff smile”, “sagging cheeks”, and looking like he’d “put on a lot of weight”.
Some nastier folks even said that Hawick looks “older” than his father, veteran actor Lau Dan, who’s 77.
Um, now isn’t that just taking it way too far?
