Netizens Tease Wakin Chau, 61, For Having A Pot Belly, Turn Him Into A Meme

Taiwanese singer Wakin Chau, who’s been in showbiz for 37 years, was one of the biggest Mandopop stars in the ‘90s.

Best known for  ballads such as ‘The Flowery Heart’, ‘You Make Me Happy and Sad’ and ‘Nothing Will Stop Me From Loving You’, the 61-year-old recently embarked on his Wakin Together concert tour, which kicked off in Los Angeles on Sep 2.

He is slated to perform in Singapore on Sep 16 and 17.

Recently, snippets from his Reno show have been making the rounds online.

In the various videos, Wakin, who was dressed in a blue tee, jeans and black jacket, was performing his classic hits, enthralling the audience with his vocals.

However, one pic (below), which shows Wakin with his arm raised, has generated quite a bit of buzz, and not exactly for the right reasons.

His belly became the talk of the town

Netizens zeroed in on his, um, physique, pointing out that the singer had a pot belly.

One netizen even turned him into a meme, cheekily captioning the pic: "Want to see my belly? Raise my arms for you to see.”

Is it just a bad camera angle?

While it was all in good fun, some netizens came to Wakin’s defense, saying that it was just a bad camera angle.

Others also pointed out that he looks good and very charming for his age.
