The Miss Hongkong pageant is one of the most talked-about competitions in the region, no thanks to the crazy amount of media attention that’s showered, or should we say shoved on the delegates and the eventual winner.
The spotlight for whomever is crowned Miss Hongkong never goes away either. And when she goes on to get married and start a family, her husband (if he isn’t famous already) and kids also become public figures.
A Hongkong news outlet recently compiled photos of some Miss Hongkong winners from the past 30 years to prove that beauty queens go on to have cute kids.
49-year-old Anita, who became an award-winning movie star after winning the pageant, and actor Julian Cheung Chi-lam, also 49, got hitched in 2001. Their son Morton is now 14.
Winnie, who turned 50 last year, has a 15-year-old daughter Hannah and a 14-year-old son Jonah with her businessman husband Simon Wong.
Due to mismanagement of their sprawling business empire, the couple were besieged with financial and legal trouble some years back— she reportedly had to mortgage her Miss Hongkong crown — but have since bounced back.
The 47-year-old quit showbiz in 1999 after marrying businessman Ching Wu Yau, who is 20 years her senior. They have two sons: Jason, 20, and Kaspar, five. Yes, that’s a massive 15-year age difference between the boys.
Now this is complicated. Shirley, 42, has an eight-year-old daughter with ex-boyfriend diver Andy Ng. In 2019, she got hitched to a man, whose identity remains a secret, and they have a one-year-old son together. Here’s the thing: netizens don’t think her husband actually exists.
