Benjamin Kheng Proposed To His Girlfriend Naomi Yeo And She Had Just The Cutest Response
She asked only the important questions.
Sure, we're all worried about the coronavirus outbreak but it's clear that love is also in the air what with the recent string of celeb engagements. Ah Boys Joshua Tan and Maxi Lim, as well as James Seah and Ase Wang have all gotten engaged to their respective partners.
And joining the love fest yesterday is Benjamin Kheng, 29, who revealed last night (Mar 13) that he proposed to his girlfriend Naomi Yeo, 26, while they were holidaying in New Zealand. In case you were wondering, the actress-host said yes even before he popped the big question when they visited Lindis Pass.
The part-time 987FM DJ opened up about the engagement, or as much as she could remember of that moment, on her Instagram: “I blanked out after he got down on one knee so I’m not the best person to ask [what happened].”
Benjamin, however, had lots to share about his adorable proposal, which, according to him, went something like this:
Naomi: “YES.”
Benjamin: “Will— I think I need to ask the question first.” /squats down
Naomi: “You’re not gonna stand? Ah okay.”
Benjamin: (Long nervous ramble that totally wasn’t what I prepared, then) “…Will you marry me?”
Naomi: “YES.”
Naomi then asked a question so practical we couldn’t help but wonder if that's something people who get proposed to actually think about.
“Wait. this one can wear in shower?”
Thankfully (and somewhat surprisingly), the singer responded in the affirmative (but really, how did he know?), which led Naomi to ask her next question: “OMG, how do I tell my parents about this?
As it turns out, Ben had already asked Naomi’s parents for her hand in marriage five months ago, so she had nothing to worry about.
Also, it appears that their engagement happened more than a week ago as the photographer, Phoenix Casuarina, had posted a snap of the proposal on IG on March 4. Surprisingly, no one realised it until Ben and Naomi announced it on their own accounts.
Benjamin and Naomi went public with their relationship last September, and have worked together on multiple projects, including meWATCH's The Intruder.
