This week, the celebs caught up with their nearest and dearest over yummy meals. Belinda Lee, Phyllis Quek, Aileen Tan, and more got to savour Chen Xiuhuan’s homemade abalone laksa, and Yvonne Lim cooked up a storm for her gathering with pals like Jeff Wang and Huang Jinglun in Taiwan. Meanwhile, the bumbling Sharon Au learnt how to bake from Jeanette Aw remotely. Read on to see how her cake turned out.

1 of 21 Chen Xiuhuan

What she ate: Homemade laksa

Yummy factor: It's no secret that Xiuhuan loves to feed those around her. This week, she played host to celeb pals like Phyllis Quek, Aileen Tan, Belinda Lee, and Sora Ma and whipped up some delicious homemade laksa and yusheng for the gathering. Aside from the usual ingredients like fresh prawns, tau pok, hard-boiled eggs and cockles, she also gave it a luxe twist by adding abalones.

2 of 21 Germaine Tan

What she ate: Bubble tea pizza

Yummy factor: Can bubble tea and pizza make for an appetising combo? Well, bubble tea connoisseur Germaine approves of Pizza Hut’s unusual offering. She didn't think cheese could go well with the brown sugar milk tea sauce, boba pearls, and marshmallows, but it was actually pretty yummy. Her only question — will anyone take to pizza-flavoured BBT?

3 of 21 Sharon Au

What she ate: Lemon chiffon cake

Yummy factor: Earlier this week, Jeanette Aw guided Sharon on how to bake a lemon chiffon cake in a hilarious Instagram Live session. Never mind that Sharon's cake didn't rise, or that she almost dropped her mobile phone into the batter, her creation (albeit a little burnt) still looked pretty decent and fluffy. #achievementunlocked

4 of 21 Alan Wan

What he ate: Nasi padang

Yummy factor: Craving for nasi padang? Alan recommends heading to Muslim Delights, where fried chicken topped with crispy batter bits awaits. Top it all off with some fragrant sayur lodeh, stir-fried kang kong and begedil like he did for a sedap lunch.

5 of 21 Chua Enlai

What he ate: Seafood galore

Yummy factor: From plump freshly-shucked oysters to juicy shrimp cocktail, as well as a mountain of fries slathered with mentaiko mayo and torched to perfection, Enlai got to nom on jewels of the sea at The Oyster Bar. And that wasn’t all — he also had baked camembert in all its oozy glory, as well as edible gold in his sake.

6 of 21 Zoe Tay

What she ate: Korean food

Yummy factor: Zoe visited Jin Yinji and was treated to comforting Korean food like spicy pork belly, fried nian gao, kimchi, as well as her favourite odeng (Korean fish cakes). Talk about a feast!

7 of 21 Yvonne Lim

What she ate: Homemade yusheng

Yummy factor: Yvonne has upped her yusheng game once again with her homemade creation for a gathering with friends, including Mandopop singer Fish Leong, Kelly Poon, Huang Jinglun, and Jeff Wang. Her moo-tiful creation was a hit with everyone, and the perfect Singaporean-inspired addition to the other local foods like satay, ngoh hiang and char kway teow.

8 of 21 Tracy Lee

What she ate: Fried nian gao

Yummy factor: Tracy fried herself some traditional nian gao as a festive snack, and it’s one of those things that appear nondescript yet taste oh-so-shiok with its crisp eggy outer layer and gooey centre.

9 of 21 Tang Miaoling

What she ate: Ong lai chiffon cake

Yummy factor: Miaoling rose to the occasion for a retro-themed CNY party, sporting a mustard yellow getup paired with a polka dotted headband reminiscent of the character she played in popular '90s drama The Magnate. But really, it was Miaoling’s cute-as-a-button pineapple tart-shaped chiffon cake (with pineapple jam filling!) that stole our attention, along with the jar of citrusy goodness.

10 of 21 Pierre Png

What he ate: Peranakan food

Yummy factor: We can only imagine how satiated Pierre must have been after his sumptuous Peranakan dinner. We spot must-haves like chap chye, assam fish, and beef rendang — and all we can think about is how the dishes must go so well with the blue butterfly pea rice.

11 of 21 Edmund Chen and Xiang Yun

What they ate: Japanese hand rolls

Yummy factor: Edmund and Xiang Yun’s date at cozy sushi bar Wasabi Tei saw them tucking into plenty of hearty hand rolls, including one that’s wrapped with crisp seaweed and topped with fresh and buttery sea urchin — Edmund’s fave!

12 of 21 Nurul Aini

What she ate: Decadent bakes

Yummy factor: It’s been a while since Nurul managed to get her hands on the matcha boms and sticky pecan buns from online bakery Boms & Buns, and as expected, she couldn’t stop gushing about the freshly-baked treats. Oh, and expect an “explosion in your mouth” for the boms, thanks to the generous fillings.

13 of 21 Hazelle Teo and Kunhua

What they ate: Seafood spread

Yummy factor: Kunhua was undoubtedly impressed by Hazelle’s prawn-shelling skills at their gathering with fellow YES 933 DJs. And aside from huge juicy shrimp, they also tucked into homemade goodness like chilli wantons, pencai with abalone, and bean curd stuffed with minced meat.

14 of 21 Sonia Chew

What she ate: Fast food

Yummy factor: Sonia’s choice of comfort food like fried nuggets, wings and cheeseburgers, along with copious amounts of wine, sound like the perfect menu for a chill Friday night at home with the girls. Plus, food bellies can’t be seen under baggy PJs, right?

15 of 21 Pornsak and Michelle Chia

What they ate: Sinful supper

Yummy factor: The bowls of silky smooth tau huey and fried dough fritters Pornsak and Michelle had late in the night probably tasted even more delicious — especially when they must have been feeling ravenous after their Facebook Live session.

16 of 21 Ferlyn Wong, Kimberly Chia, Kiki Lim, and Elizabeth Lee

What they ate: Food props

Yummy factor: What better way to conclude a successfully-shot scene than to polish off the edible props themselves? The girls couldn’t be happier to actually get to munch on what looks like parma ham and salad — they must have been hungry!

17 of 21 Chantalle Ng

What she ate: Fried chicken and waffles

Yummy factor: Chantalle took a breather from her busy schedule and enjoyed a decadent lunch at Yardbird, where she treated herself to the restaurant’s signature fried chicken, served alongside cheddar cheese waffles and spiced watermelon cubes. And if that isn’t indulgent enough, wine, along with the seared shrimps and roasted tomatoes should seal the deal.

18 of 21 Cheryl Wee

What she ate: Peach gum

Yummy factor: When it comes to taking care of her skin, Cheryl’s a firm believer of beauty foods, like peach gum. Well, while we can’t speak for its efficacy, it does make for a yummy dessert, especially when it’s paired with refreshing lemongrass, white fungus, barley and chewy aloe vera bits.

19 of 21 Jade Seah

What she ate: Savoury tarts from Bon Deli

Yummy factor: Jade couldn't hide her excitement when she received a box of fusion charcoal tarts which came topped with ingredients like black pepper smoked duck, chilli crab sauce otah, salted egg chicken, and kampong satay chicken. They are so hearty, they could be a meal on their own.

20 of 21 Belinda Lee

What she ate: Ice cream

Yummy factor: Forget plain ol’ vanilla ice cream with brownies or waffles... For a truly luxurious treat, enjoy a scoop of Okinawan sea salt ice cream at Ippai with sweet and aromatic sake instead. Yum.

21 of 21 Pan Lingling, Hong Ling, Chen Xiuhuan and Belinda Lee

What they ate: Bird’s nest

Yummy factor: Thanks to towkay Hong Ling, the ladies got to enjoy a whole pot of freshly-simmered bird’s nest during one of their festive gatherings, and they all loved how yummy the nourishing dessert was.
