Insta-Buzz: What The Stars Were Up To This Week
Here are some of our favourite snaps from the past week.
Love was really in the air this week as multiple couples celebrated engagements or anniversaries. Get ready to say, “Aww…”
Well, this was a surprise. On Monday, the actress casually dropped a bomb by posting a photo of roses and an engagement ring, along with a short clip of herself on the day her fiancé, a local businessman in his 40s, popped the question.
In her caption, Sora revealed that the couple met on April 29, 2012 and started dating in March 2013. She added that the reason for marriage was ‘cos the “feeling and time felt right” and shared her plans to “continue being an independent and supportive partner” after they tie the knot.
You can read more about Sora’s relationship in her interview with 8days.sg here.

Wedding bells are also set to ring for the Vasantham Star winner and her beau of seven years, fellow singer Vishnu Balaji, after the couple got engaged last Sunday in a beautiful ceremony.
P/S: We love their hashtag, #SuthaGotHerVish. Congrats, you two!

Last Tuesday officially marked 26 years since Xiuhuan and her Taiwanese businessman hubby have been married, and the actress shared a couple of lovely — not to mention super cool — throwback pics to celebrate.
“For 26 years, I’ve had you with me on this journey through happiness and worry. I will treasure this sincere love forever,” she wrote. “Let’s look forward to the next 26 years.”
Aww, now isn’t that sweet? Happy anniversary!

It hasn’t been the easiest year for the host and his wife Gina Lin after they tragically lost their baby six months into Gina’s pregnancy back in July, but the couple wasn’t going to let anything put a damper on their first wedding anniversary celebration on Thursday.
“We sat in the same boat together through the wind and rain over the past year. We will continue to keep going in the future. I believe that everything will get even better,” he wrote.

Wow, this was a popular week of the year to get married, wasn’t it? Celebrating eight years of wedded bliss on Friday were the Hongkong stars, and Aimee shared her super sweet conversation with Moses on her IG, which went like this:
“Me: Has it been 8 years of marriage already?
Him: Yes, can you believe it? We've been together for actually a decade.
Me: What? No... why doesn’t it feel that long?
Him: Because we are happy!”
Talk about #relationshipgoals. Also, aren’t their wedding photos, which were taken in Paris, just gorgeous?

Earlier this week, the Phua Chu Kang star was fined S$800 and banned from driving for three months after he pleaded guilty for speeding one night in April.
Instead of staying silent on social media like what most people would’ve done, Gurmit posted a short video on Instagram to apologise for his actions, saying: “Hi everyone. You may or may not have heard about the news, but I just want to say that I’m sorry, and I hope to do better. Take care.”
A few days later, he followed up with another post thanking everyone who had sent him encouraging messages. Remember to drive safely, everyone!

Paris-based Sharon is back in Singapore again and this time, she has to serve a whopping three weeks of quarantine, but she’s determined not to let it get her down and is taking the opportunity to pick up the violin again.
“I will practise diligently so that I can at least play twinkle twinkle little star at the end of the 21 days quarantine (sic),” she vowed. “Again, never too old, never too late to start. No neighbours were harmed in this endeavour so far. Not yet.”
We’ll wait for your full performance video at the end of your isolation, Sharon.

Guess Enlai must have been going through his collection of old photos ‘cos he suddenly decided to share a few of himself interviewing the Maggie Cheung at a red carpet event many years ago.
The throwback shot turned YES933 DJ Kunhua green with envy. “Nooooo wayyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!! Why you can stand so close to her!!! *angryfan (sic)” he commented, adding the laughing emoji to show that he was only joking (or was he?).

The past couple of weeks haven’t been easy for F&B businesses, especially hawkers who aren’t able to hop onto the food delivery bandwagon.
To show his support and encourage others to do the same, Pierre posted a pic of himself tapow-ing food from the hawker centre, and he even brought his own containers to #savetheplanet and #saveourhawkers at the same time.
Now, is anyone else craving for a good bowl of mee pok?

After four years of studying at the super prestigious Phillips Academy high school in the US, Jet’s 18-year-old daughter Jada has finally graduated and posted a bunch of happy photos from the commencement earlier this week.
While her older sister Jane was there, it’s not clear if their father and mother, former actress Nina Li Chi, attended the ceremony as they’re nowhere to be seen in any of Jada’s photos. Oh well, we’re sure they’re still immensely proud of her.

Oooh, look who else has a new Mercedes-Benz in the garage. On Thursday, the actor showed off his latest ride, a white SUV that’s so chic, even his celebrity friends couldn’t help but gush over it in the comments.
Hey, jio us for a ride one day, Des?

Like many people all over the world, the Malaysian-born Mediacorp host hasn’t been able to travel back to her hometown to see her family no thanks to COVID-19, and she shared a heart-wrenching message on her thoughts through The Celebrity Agency.
“Hey friends, it must be difficult to not be able to go home when you’re feeling homesick. I feel the very same way, I miss my home very dearly. Can’t wait to go back and enjoy all kinds of food, but ultimately nothing beats mum’s cooking.
I truly thought we would be able to return home soon last year but it seems like it’s getting harder. Well that’s life isn’t it, we can’t always get what we want. Time passes on really quickly, another year went by. My homesickness has slowly subsided and right now I only hope for my family to stay safe and healthy.
As long as everyone [keeps] to the SOP and [does] their part, I believe we will see the light at the end of the tunnel soon.” She also revealed that she has a nephew whom she hasn’t been able to see in person yet.
Hang in there, Sin Nee! Hopefully we’ll all get to travel again soon.
