Jamie Yeo Catches 9-Year-Old Daughter Telling A “Big Lie”; Asks Internet For Punishment Suggestions

“So.... We caught the nine-year-old in a big lie last night. Something to do with hiding the old iPad in her closet for more than a week and watching lots of YouTube and then not owning up to it,” Jamie, who is married to 42-year-old British expat Rupert, wrote on Instagram.
The 43-year-old former Gold 905 jock then mentioned that Alysia’s “consistent lying had hurt [her] more than the actual crime itself”, and asked her followers to suggest a punishment for her pre-teen.
“We haven’t decided on an appropriate punishment but I did get this from her this morning,” the celeb mother-of-two posted, along with an adorable pic of an acrostic poem Alysia wrote using Jamie’s name.
Alysia, whose dad is Jamie’s ex-husband British expat Thorsten Nolte, wrote:

Aww... While that seems like a really sweet gesture from Alysia to appease her mummy before she gets any angrier, Jamie wasn’t about to take the bait.
“What do you think? Is she trying to get away with it?” Jamie asked her followers. “What should we do? Sigh. Being a parent is tiring sometimes!”
One netizen, presumably a mother herself, advised Jamie to use a “soft approach” and reach a “compromise” with Alysia.
“Have a heart to heart talk and tell her the hurt and disappointment you feel. And ask her if she will be happy if you lie to her. Last but not least, ask for the iPad politely and come to an agreement on how much screen time she gets. When you do not allow her to use the iPad, tell her the reason why and let her know what she can do in order to use it. For example, you can ask her to finish all her homework before using the iPad for 30 minutes,” the helpful follower wrote.
Similarly, another user agreed and suggested that Jamie should have a calm discussion with Alysia to explain what was wrong before doling out disciplinary action.
“This was what I did with [my kid] for lying:
1. Waited a day to cool down (if you’re upset, it’ll be more difficult to do so)
2. Had a real conversation with her
3. Explained why I was hurt by the lie
4. Role play and ask her to be in my shoes and decide the punishment,” another parent said.
