By now, it should come as no surprise that Belinda Lee’s relationship with her husband, American architect David Moore, who’s 15 years older than her, is super sweet. Just look at the romantic K-drama moment that the 43-year-old host shared on her Instagram earlier this year.

However, as sweet as their relationship may be, there’s still a number of salty bystanders who aren’t too enamoured with the couple, as Belinda revealed in a recent episode of the ASMR-themed web series Careless Whisper, hosted by Phyllis Quek, 48.

During her chat with Phyllis, Belinda brought up the topic, asking Phyllis if she’d heard any “nasty remarks” after she tied the knot with her husband. Phyllis has been married to Australian businessman, David Cox, 58, for nine years.

Coincidentally, it turns out that both Phyllis and Belinda’s husbands are older than them by over a decade (11 years for Phyllis, and 15 for Belinda), and both named David too.

But back to the topic at hand.

Phyllis immediately replied in the affirmative, before going on to say: “I always try my best not to look at them, because some of the remarks are simply out to attack me.”

While both Phyllis and Belinda didn’t exactly share what were the “nasty remarks” they’d heard, both actresses emphasised that neither the age difference or their different nationalities bothered them.

“To me, the relationship between two people is [all about] the chemistry between the both of them, right? We love the way we are, and we’re just happy with our relationship and our marriage, so whether we’re one year apart or 10 years apart, the difference in age is not important, what’s [most] important is that we get along” Phyllis said.

Belinda, who’d shared more about her courtship with her husband in an earlier interview with 8days.sg, also went on to add: “I have never felt this happy and grateful ‘cos he is truly one of the biggest blessings in my life, and I hope people understand this part. It’s not ‘cos we choose a certain nationality, or we choose a certain colour or whatever, it has nothing to do with that, we choose a certain “heart”.

    Well said.
