Rui En Spent Her Weekend Handing Out Meals To Needy Residents
Nothing but praise for the star.
There’s something especially heartwarming about seeing a celeb (or anyone, really) take time out from their busy schedule to give back to the community, and on Sunday (Dec 13), Rui En did just that.
The 39-year-old actress reached out to local vegetarian hawker stall Mummy Yummy, who does door to door food distribution to rental flats in Singapore. According to Mummy Yummy, Rui En had expressed her interest to help out with their meals program and, at the same time, have the opportunity to interact with the needy residents.
Oh, she’s also the first celeb to work with them.
And of course, Rui En was welcomed fondly by the many residents who received their food from her that day.
As Mummy Yummy wrote in their caption, reactions ranged from “Wow, someone inside the TV come and give us free food! (sic)” to “Wah, so beautiful sia!”.
“Thank you to the members who showed up yesterday. Happy to see u guys!
“[Mummy Yummy],thank you for having us, I was so surprised how many young people were involved, warms my heart just in time for Xmas.
“Sometimes we get caught up in the commercialism of Xmas and forget that it actually is for the down and out, the broken hearted and the ones who see no hope. Have a blessed Xmas!” read her statement.
