Style Evolution: Kym Ng
A look back at the bubbly actress-host's most memorable looks.
Happy birthday, Kym Ng! Though the spunky actress-host, who turns 53 on July 1, is notoriously secretive about her age, she looks like she's barely aged since she first debuted as a singer in the ‘90s and is still beloved by aunties and kids alike. Check out her style evolution over the years.
Can you believe that Kym was already 32 when she posed for this photo? The youthful-looking star has looked ageless since forever, apparently.

Kym must have liked this dress a lot to wear it to more than one event.
Those arched eyebrows and bright red lips give Kym the look of a seductive screen siren.
Kym’s wardrobe isn’t the only thing that’s improved over the years — you’d be hard-pressed to catch her wearing mismatched foundation and overdone blush these days (it's not Kym's fault — the mid-2000s really were a dark time for makeup).
Maybe we should have called this “makeup evolution” instead — Kym is practically unrecognisable with her smoky eyes and overly curly hair.
Kym’s long black hair and arched eyebrows make the bubbly host look uncharacteristically intimidating.
While this look is a little closer to Kym’s currently quirky style, the clashing colours and hemlines are a complete eyesore.
Believe it or not, this angel costume is not even close to the strangest thing Kym has had to wear for work.
See? We told you.
This was 15 years ago? It’s official, Kym is ageing backwards.
Boy, do that top and belt bring back some memories. (And sometime between 2005 and 2006, Kym underwent a much-needed eyebrow makeover.)
Not the most flattering Star Awards outfit, but certainly one of the most comfortable-looking.
How cute does Kym look with her chin-length bob? As much as we love her cropped pixie cut, we’d push for this hairstyle if she ever decided to grow out her hair again.

Kym gave off major bridal vibes in a mid-2000s issue of iWeekly.
The outfit is cute, but sorry Kym, glossy tights belong in ‘80s aerobics videos.
Though we are not fans of short poofy dresses, not many ladies in their mid-forties can carry them off well like Kym.
Only Kym could make a dress that resembles a pile of cupcake liners look this adorable.
Kym swapped her usual short dresses for a long and stunning sequined gown at the 2012 Star Awards.
Kym looks ethereal in this blush frilly number at the Dance Dance Dragon gala premiere.
Who can forget Kym’s Barbie pink hair? She pulls it off so well, we wish she would try colours like blue or purple.
The cropped platinum blonde locks make Kym look more spunky and edgy, don’t you think?
Maybe it’s the way her hair was styled but we’re not lovin’ the Ronald McDonald red do.
This was one of our favourite looks from Star Awards Part 2 — Kym was just a pair of fairy wings away from becoming a real-life Tinkerbell.
Guess Kym loved the dress too. Here she is in a similar gown at the Star Awards the following year, this time, channelling a mermaid.
While this gown is a little voluminous for Kym's petite frame, its neutral colour keeps it from overwhelming her completely.
Kym looked like an old Hollywood starlet in the Mediacorp Chinese New Year MV in her off shoulder navy gown, red lip and hair done in finger waves.
Kym hosted the River Hongbao show looking as pretty as the peonies on her dress.
Isn't Kym a vision of elegance in this lace bustier gown Rebecca Caroline? The petite host loved the dress so much that she got the bridal boutique to design her Star Awards 2019 gown.
While most female stars opted for gala-worthy gowns for the Star Awards red carpet, Kym bucked the trend and opted for a light blue pantsuit by Q Menswear.
Kym switched into a strapless shimmery number to accept her All-Time Favourite Award on stage, looking every inch like a superstar.
We can't take our eyes off Kym in this stunning fuchsia lace cheongsam from The Missing Piece. The tulip skirt not only gives the qipao a modern touch, but it is also flattering on the hips.
Gingham prints often remind us of picnic mats. But this monochrome Kate Spade dress features green embroidery for a contrasting effect, offering a playful and cheery look that fits well with the bubbly host's personality.
