She had reportedly been dead for two days when she was found.
Taiwanese actress-host Luo Peiying (she was previously known as Luo Biling) has been found dead in her home. She was 59.
According to Apple Daily, police found Peiying in her home located in Taipei’s Songshan district yesterday (Aug 3) after her friend made a report saying that she could not reach the veteran star for days.
Peiying had reportedly been dead for two days when she was found.
There were no injuries found on her body and police have ruled out foul play.
Though the cause of death is still under investigation, sources close to Peiying said she had a habit of using sleeping pills and would occasionally indulge in alcohol. She appeared to be fine four days ago and was still replying to messages on Facebook.
Peiying began her career as an actress more than 30 years ago but enjoyed more success as a host and as a guest on variety shows. Known for her sassy and straight-talking ways, the feisty star’s popularity surged after making frequent appearances on Here Comes Kang Xi.
Peiying was also a close friend of the late Taiwanese celebrity dancer Serena Liu and was heartbroken when the latter passed away in March.
Following news of Peiying’s passing, fans and netizens left messages and tributes on her Facebook page. Peiying would have turned 60 on August 12.
