Everyone loves it when a celeb opens up about who he's dating. But when it comes to idols, news of them finding a partner more often than not invokes negative emotions for the majority of their young fans.

Take Chinese singer Lu Han, for example. The 30-year-old former EXO member went public with actress Guan Xiaotong in October 2017. The reaction to the news was so overwhelming that it broke Weibo’s servers — on top of the hearts of his thousands of fans.

1 of 3 She was clearly upset by the dating news

One of his fans voiced her disappointment in a unique way. She started a Weibo account with the handle ‘Have Lu Han and Guan Xiaotong broken up yet? bot’. Her first post, which was made shortly after his announcement, read: “Day One. Lu Han will definitely break up [with her]. She also added three crying emojis to drive her point home.

Two minutes later, she wrote: “Day One. [They] haven’t [broken up] yet.” A few hours later, she posted yet another update, writing: “Those who can't sleep can all mark their attendance here.

From that day on, she posted the same content. “Day [insert counter here]. Not yet.” Somewhere along the way, she decided that she needed a dose of positivity in her posts and changed it up to: “Have Lu Han and Guan Xiaotong broken up yet? Day [insert counter here]. [Their breakup] will happen soon.”

She clearly wasn’t the only one rooting for the split, as the account amassed close to 6000 followers.

2 of 3 Lu Han and Xiaotong

Unfortunately for her, her wish for the couple to break up has not come true as Lu Han and Xiaotong are still very much in love. Then on Day 1007, which was on July 10, she wrote a message that surprised everyone after posting her usual update.

“After careful consideration, I decided to stop checking in from tomorrow onwards. I’m sorry. This apology isn’t just for you, and it’s also for those who have cursed at me in the past, and even more so for [Lu Han and Xiaotong]. It’s been almost three years. Honestly, I’ve stopped caring about this a long time ago. It’s just that it’s not important any more. I hope that all of you can do the same. What could be more important than living in the moment and having a good life? I wish all of you the best.”

3 of 3 Will this be the end of her obsession?

Her post has been met with hundreds of comments, with some telling her to “screw off” and to “leave Lu Han alone”. There were also those who gave her a reality check. “Even if they broke up, you won’t be one dating him. What kind of terrible person would wish unhappiness on someone that they claim to love and support?”

In spite of the nasty comments, the netizen returned to post an update in the wee hours of July 17. “I’m suddenly lost after not checking in here every day. I don’t know what I should do,” she whined. One response read: “You should wish them well. He’s someone that you like, and [I’m sure] he also hopes for his fans to support him.”
