Andy Lau Amazes Netizens With How He Handled An Angry Fan Who'd Waited 8 Hours To See Him
The Hongkong Heavenly King was declared to be worthy of enjoying four decades of popularity.
Hot young heartthrobs like BTS and EXO aren’t the only ones with the power to send fans into a frenzy when they show up in public.
Recently, a video of Hongkong Heavenly King Andy Lau signing autographs and taking pictures with a huge group of fans at an event in China started making its rounds on the internet. Yup, he’s still got it even after being in showbiz for 40 years, all right.
As expected, it was complete mayhem, but things got messier when a bespectacled middle-aged man wreaked more havoc by shouting and trying to get past the bodyguards.
According to reports, the man had spent eight hours queuing up to meet Andy, but as soon as the 59-year-old star showed up, he was pushed to the back of the line as the scene descended into chaos when numerous other fans clamoured for their idol’s attention as well.
Naturally, he wasn’t pleased, and hence his dramatic reaction, but it looks like the noise he made paid off.
Upon learning of the situation, Andy himself immediately approached the fan, patted him on the shoulder, and softly said, “Please calm down.”
Andy also put his finger to his lips in a “shhh” gesture to signal the crowd to be quiet, and amazingly, he actually managed to hush the once unruly mob with that one simple move.
He then made that male fan’s day by casually leaning in for a photo with him with a smile on his face. And just like that, the situation was brought under control.
This short clip of Andy ‘taming’ the crowd so effortlessly earned him praise from netizens for his “high EQ” and “friendly attitude”. It was also pointed out that there was “no look of displeasure on his face at all”.
Other comments include: “You can see how cultured Andy is from incidents like this”, “He is worthy of being a Heavenly King who has been popular for 40 years”, “Andy really loves his fans”, and “Being able to remain popular for so long depends on strength, and of course character”.
