Anthony Wong Reconciles With Wife After Living Apart For 20 Years

It's said their relationship was fraught with conflict in part due to their differing views on politics.
Remember back in August when Hongkong actor Anthony Wong announced that he had “left the place [he] had lived for 20 years and starting a new life”? Turns out he was moving back in with his wife, Ng Wai Jing.
The couple, who have been married for 28 years and have two sons Yat Yat and Yee Yee, have been living separately for the past two decades. However, to reduce his financial burden, the 59-year-old actor decided to give up his Tai Hang apartment and move back in with his wife. Their sons, who are in their 20s, live in Canada.
And looks like all that time spent under the same roof has brought them closer.
Recently, the pair were photographed shopping hand-in-hand at a supermarket and according to Next Magazine, behaved sweetly, chatting and laughing the whole time like “an old married couple”.
The magazine added that a sales staff had approached the couple for a photo but while Anthony obliged, Wai Jing walked away as she prefers to remain low-profile.
Things have not always been rosy for the couple. Their relationship was constantly fraught with conflicts, in part due to their differing political positions — he is a pro-Hongkong democracy supporter, while she is pro-government — so they reached a consensus to live apart.
They also went through a rough patch more than 20 years ago. Wai Jing threatened divorce when she found out that Anthony had an affair and had also fathered an illegitimate son named William with a former lover. While they did sign divorce papers, which she reportedly kept in her safe, she stuck by Anthony for the sake of their two sons.
When asked how they manage to get along after living apart for so many years, Anthony replied with three tips: “Let big issues become small, act as if nothing happened, and have wishes but no expectations!”
Sounds like great advice to us.
