An autopsy was carried out at 2.30pm this afternoon (Sep 18) to determine Alien Huang’s cause of death, two days after the Taiwanese star was found dead at age 36 in his Taipei home.

According to Taiwanese media reports, Alien’s body was brought to the funeral parlour in the Banqiao district at 1.34pm. The late star's father and younger sister arrived shortly after.

At about 4pm, the prosecutor came forward to deliver a brief statement of the initial findings to the media, saying that no external injuries were found, and that there is a high possibility that Alien’s death was caused by cardiovascular disease. However, a more detailed report on the cause of death is still pending appraisal from the Institute of Forensic Medicine. The prosecutor also stated that Alien’s body has been returned to his family.

Preparations are already underway for Alien’s funeral and wake, which will be held over three days from September 19 to 21, 10am to 6pm, at the Lung Yen mourning hall. It is understood that the production team of Mr. Player, the variety show Alien hosted with Jacky Wu, will be helping his family with the necessary arrangements.

While the wake is only open to relatives, friends, and colleagues of Alien, his label Rock Records revealed that they are in the midst of planning a memorial concert so that fans can say their final goodbyes as well, and will release more details once everything has been confirmed.

Since 10am this morning, staff members were seen carrying flowers into the mourning hall. Rock Records also shared a mock-up of what the hall is expected to look like after they’re done setting things up, including the photo of Alien that will be used. According to Rock Records, the photo used as Alien's funeral portrait was taken two years ago to promote his fan meet in Hongkong.

“It was chosen by his father. It’s [his father’s] favourite photo,” they explained.

Funeral wreaths have already started filling up the parlour, including those from Alien’s fellow celebs like Wallace Huo and Ruby Lin, as well as his former 100% Entertainment co-host Linda Chien.
