Benjamin Yuen Just Said Mandy Wong, Who Is Not Married, Has A Husband On A Live Stream
Did the TVB actress get married to her boyfriend of nine years and not tell anyone?
Accidents happen all the time on live streams — like a product demo going wrong or someone accidentally turning off a beauty filter — so let's not be too hard on TVB actor Benjamin Yuen.
The 40-year-old was on an IG Live session with fellow TVB stars Nancy Wu and Mandy Wong when the latter was suddenly disconnected from the stream.
She had been talking about her drama The Line Watchers when she was abruptly cut off, and Benjamin jumped in to assure their viewers that she would be back shortly.
“Maybe the WiFi at her house was cut, or her husband asked her to stop streaming,” Benjamin quipped.
Wait, husband?
As far as everyone knows, Mandy isn't married. The 38-year-old actress has been dating jewellery company exec Anthony Jim since 2012, though there were marriage rumours a few months back when Mandy moved into Anthony’s S$20mil Mid-Levels mansion.
Needless to say, viewers were taken aback by Benjamin's use of the term 'husband'.
The actor quickly tried to salvage the situation by saying that Mandy isn’t married, with Nancy adding that Benjamin was just “talking nonsense”.
Interestingly, when Mandy rejoined the stream, the trio avoided talking about the slip-up altogether.
Mandy has since clarified Benjamin's comments in an interview with Hongkong media.
“If what he said was true, everyone would have heard about the news by now, said Mandy. Benjamin made an unintentional mistake and was just trying to make everyone laugh with the comment.”
She declined to comment on whether marriage is on the cards between her and her boyfriend, instead choosing to emphasise that she would let everyone know about any good news if it happens .
