Billionaire’s Son Wang Sicong Celebrates 33rd Birthday On Yacht With 40 Female Influencers
It was a little more modest and low-key compared to his past parties, though.
If there’s one word to describe Chinese businessman Wang Sicong, it would be “baller”.
After all, he is the only son of billionaire tycoon Wang Jianlin aka the founder of Dalian Wanda Group, and is infamous for his #CrazyRichAsian antics like buying multiple iPhones and Apple watches for his dog (yes) and spending over S$400,000 on high-end champagne.
He’s known to throw some pretty lavish parties too, and his recent 33rd birthday bash was no exception. Last Saturday (Jan 2), the day before his actual birthday, Sicong flew to the coastal city of Sanya on a private jet with a bevy of beauties, and upon their arrival, boarded a luxury yacht.
According to reports, there were about 40 influencers — all of them women — at the party, which probably isn’t all that surprising given the fact that Sicong is known to have a thing for them.
Netizens have claimed that it costs 200,000 yuan (S$41,000) to rent a yacht for three hours, so it is estimated that the entire event might have set Sicong back a seven-figure sum (1mil yuan is about S$204,000).
Even Sicong’s birthday cake got people talking. The influencers were said to be the ones who bought it for him, and as seen in the pics, it looks like it didn’t come cheap either. At almost 1m wide, the massive cake is decorated with various cartoon characters that Sicong likes.
After the celebrations ended, many of the influencers shared their photos with Sicong on their socials to wish him a happy birthday. Judging from the time most of the posts went up, it is believed that they were out partying all night long.
While this was by no means a small and humble affair, netizens and the media observed that Sicong’s party was actually a lot more modest and low-key compared to past years.
In 2017, he celebrated turning 29 with a five-day extravaganza in the Maldives, and in 2015, he invited K-pop girl group T-ara to perform at his 27th birthday shindig-slash-mini concert, where guests were gifted with Apple products.
His um, humble bash this year could be due to his father’s recent money woes. Chinese media have reported that Wang Jianlin’s investments in real estate and the entertainment industry have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in a staggering financial shortfall of 400bil yuan (S$81.7bil).
