Bosco Wong Says He Can Only Date A Girl Who Accepts That His Friends Are More Important Than She Is

Good luck finding a girlfriend.

We have a feeling Hongkong actor Bosco Wong, who turns 40 in December, must feel like he's at a Chinese New Year gathering every time he speaks to a reporter. In every interview he gives, it's almost certain that he's asked about his love life — or lack thereof — and his plans on settling down.

He famously dated Myolie Wu for eight years before calling it quits in 2012, and he hasn’t been in a long-term relationship since. (On the other hand, Myolie has long moved on.) Though Bosco was romantically linked to actresses like Rose Chan and Sophia Zhang, he has all but denied being in relationships with any of them.

Most recently, the actor shared in an recent interview that he has just three requirements for his future partner. Firstly, his girlfriend needs to accept that his friends are more important than she is. According to Bosco, he would want to spend time with his friends too, so his potential girlfriend can’t be too clingy, and must understand that he would not spend all his time with her.

Secondly, his girlfriend must not ask him about his whereabouts, and lastly, she needs to understand that because of the nature of his job, there will always be rumours about him and so she must not get upset with what others tell her about him.

After the interview was published, netizens couldn't help but be critical of Bosco. “Is he looking for a partner or a plaything? Is his girlfriend not allowed to have feelings and she should just wait for him to give her the time of the day?” ranted one netizen.

Another netizen had a different perspective. “Is this Bosco's way of telling us that he’ll be staying single for life? I don’t think such a woman exists, unless she’s just with him for the money.” Ooh, snap.
