Charlene Choi And Gillian Chung Return To Hongkong From Malaysia Wearing Hazmat Suits
They didn't eat or go to the loo during the four-hour flight.
Talk about a work trip gone wrong. Hongkong stars Charlene Choi, Gillian Chung, Carlos Chan and Kenny Kwan were initially set to spend over a month in Kuala Lumpur filming Forensic Scientist JD. But their work plans were upended by Malaysia’s two-week lockdown, which has since been extended to April 14.
After fleeing their hotel in the middle of the night, the cast and crew had no choice but to stay in Malaysia a while longer, while they tried to make arrangements to go back to Hongkong.
Luckily, they all managed to secure a flight out of the country, and they touched down safely in Hongkong on Tuesday night (Mar 24). The large group made for quite an eye-catching sight at the airport and that's 'cos Charlene, Gillian, Carlos and Kenny were all dressed in the latest anti-COVID-19 fashion. And by that we mean hazmat suits.
Speaking to the media scrum at the airport, Charlene said they decided to return to Hongkong as they could not proceed with filming after Malaysia’s lockdown. She also revealed that their hazmat suits were actually costumes that they had borrowed from the production crew. After all, they are filming a medical drama.
To be on the safe side, neither Charlene nor Gillian went to the toilet or ate during the four-hour flight. Their management agency, Emperor Entertainment Group, also prepared COVID-19 testing kits for everyone in the group.
Now that they have returned to Hongkong, everyone will have to isolate themselves at home for the next two weeks. “We were isolated even in Malaysia, so there’s not much difference. But I’m happier to be isolated at home,” Carlos said.
