Chinese Star Meme Tian, 40, Reportedly Had A Baby With 70-Year-Old Tycoon Husband Last Year
You're really never too old to be a father.
Chinese actress Meme Tian Pujun, 40, whom viewers would know from hit palace drama Legend of Zhen Huan, has reportedly welcomed a daughter with her husband, 70-year-old real estate tycoon Wang Shi.
Recently, Chinese media spotted the couple at the mall with a woman who was suspected to be a nanny carrying their baby girl for them.
Wang Shi was seen trying on suits, and they also shopped for infant clothing and toys together.
It’s said that Meme secretly gave birth to the child in November last year. Adding fuel to the gossip was her post from last October lamenting about gaining 7kg, which was speculated to be pregnancy weight.
However, neither she nor Wang Shi has come forward to confirm the news.
Meme, an avid yogi and pole dancer, also continued to flaunt her tight abs and intense workouts on her socials, which isn’t exactly something a new mother might do and could be seen as a way of putting the rumours to rest.
Shanghai-born Meme’s showbiz career began in 2003 after acclaimed director Wong Jing invited her to an audition in Hongkong. After making her acting debut in The Spy Dad that same year, she signed a contract with a Hongkong agency and went on to appear in other films like Dumplings and Seoul Raiders.
She finally found fame in 2012 thanks to Empresses in the Palace, where she managed to leave an impression on audiences even though she did not have a lot of scenes.
Meme reportedly met Wang Shi, who is the founder and CEO of China’s largest real estate company Vanke, while she was studying at the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business in Beijing.
Despite their 30-year age gap, sparks flew between them, and they went public with their relationship in 2012 (which, by the way, is also when Wang Shi divorced his previous wife).
In 2015, Meme revealed that Wang Shi had proposed to her, but she rejected him ‘cos they were too busy with work.
While it’s not clear when exactly they changed their minds and decided to tie the knot, Wang Shi subtly announced their marriage to the whole world while giving a speech at an awards ceremony in October 2018 by casually referring to Meme as his “wife”.
