Dilraba Dilmurat Said She Put On Weight And Her Company Basically Told Her To Get It Together

Gotta look her best for her latest project, we guess.

Gotta look her best for her latest project, we guess.

Remember when Chinese actress Viann Zhang moaned about being “too fat to be an actress” after gaining five kilos thanks to her sinful home cooking?

Well, another Chinese actress has taken to social media to air her weight-gain grievances. Last week, Dilraba Dilmurat (who is also known as Dilireba to her fans) shared a photo of a woman struggling to button up a tight pair of jeans, along with this caption: “Recently…”, implying that she’s also been having trouble fitting into her clothes.

A few days earlier, the 27-year-old posted an illustration of a pair of feet on a scale displaying the number “69.3kg”, with the left big toe covering the number “6” to make it look like a “5” (talk about being in denial).

Disclaimer: That's not her actual weight. She was just trying to make a point. “I just want to say that I’ve put on weight,” she clarified.

Fans, however, were adorably supportive, saying that she would still be pretty no matter what. They also asked her to do a vlog so they can see for themselves if she has indeed put on weight.

Her work studio, however, was the one to dish out some tough love, reposting her update along with a “gentle reminder” — and a laughing facepalm emoji — saying, “Stay healthy, maintain your weight and don’t let it increase.”

Then again, Dilireba’s staff were probably just doing their jobs and looking out for her. Not long after her posts went up, production kicked off for her new period drama Princess Changge, which is based on the popular Chinese manhua, Chang Ge Xing. And of course, she’s gotta look her best for the cameras, right?

The Uyghur beauty was spotted attending an event to commemorate the start of filming with co-star Leo Wu over the weekend, but it’s hard to tell if she really has piled on a few pounds under that bulky jacket and robe.
