It’s no surprise that pop diva Elva Hsiao has a thing for younger guys. Her exes from Sunny Wang to Kai Ko, who according to a report is “one Chinese zodiac cycle” her junior, have all been younger than her. So it’s no big deal that the 40-year-old star is now dating a 24-year-old aspiring actor. Well, for most people that is. One news site reported snarkily that the couple’s 16-year age difference marks a record low for Elva when it comes to her boyfriends’ ages.

Not that all this chatter about age matters to Elva. The rumour that she’s dating budding star Justin Huang Hao started swirling after the singer’s chauffer was seen picking up a “strapping hunk” from a school in Taipei. Though Elva wasn’t on the car ride, it was said that her driver had dropped the guy off at her place where he reportedly spent the night.

It was later revealed that the strapping hunk is none other than Justin who back in 2017 was already rumoured to be romancing Elva. The pair had been photographed on a date in October of that year and when asked about it, Elva said that she was just being a gracious host to Justin who goes to school in Canada. No one expected that 18 months later, their relationship would still be going strong. When asked to comment on Elva’s romance, her management company simply said: “We do not respond to queries about our artiste’s personal matters.” romance

Justin, who is said to be 183m tall, reportedly has his sights set on being an actor but because he grew up in Canada, his command of Mandarin isn’t good. His most famous role to date is a commercial-cum-short film for a coffee brand where reporters noted that, because of his inability to speak Mandarin well, his lines were dubbed over. They also commented that if Justin wants to have a future as an actor, he needs to go for Mandarin tuition classes.
