F4 Is Reuniting On Oct 30 And Fans Are Saying 2 Of Its Members Look Like “Uncles” Now
Can you believe it's been 19 years since Meteor Garden?
Way before BTS or TFBoys or Fahrenheit, there was one group that captured the hearts of fan girls and fan boys around the world. And that's F4, the Taiwanese boyband made up of Jerry Yan, Vic Chou, Ken Chu and Vanness Wu. The boys (and their wavy locks) shot to stardom in 2001 after starring in the hit drama, Meteor Garden, and have remained A-listers ever since.
The group has been inactive since 2008, but the foursome have remained good friends, unlike a certain other boyband. But they've been so busy with their own lives and careers that reunions have been few and far between.
The last time F4 was on stage together was at the Jiangsu TV Spring Festival in 2013. Now, after seven long years, they’ll be reuniting at Jiangsu TV’s 1001 Night Festival on October 30. And boy, are their fans excited.
A 19-second clip of the four men (shot separately, of course) confirming their upcoming appearance shot to the top of real-time searches on multiple social media platforms, including Weibo.
“What is it about Jiangsu TV that makes [F4] keep coming back together? Not that I’m complaining!” one netizen quipped. Others have called it the ‘reunion of the century’, with some netizens ‘warning’ other popular boy groups, such as the TFBOYS and NEX7 that their idols should “watch their back because the original heartthrobs are back”.
Netizens have also pointed out that Jerry, 43, is the only one who still looks the same as he did almost 19 years ago. “He takes such good care of himself that he looks exactly the same, only manlier,” one netizen gushed.
The meanest comments have been directed at Ken, 41, and Vanness, 42, both of whom netizens say look like “absolute uncles” now. Yikes.
On the other hand, Vic, 39, has been dubbed the “guy who looks like he went from being a millionaire to a billionaire”. Guess that's a compliment?
