Felix Wong Printed Over 10,000 Photos Of His Late Wife To Look At When He Misses Her
This is how he is coping with his loss.
Hongkong actor Felix Wong’s wife, former actress Leung Kit Wah, passed away in May after a seven-year battle with leukaemia. She was 59 and was married to Felix for 32 years. Both he and their daughter, Adrian Wong, have admitted that the past few months have been “very difficult” for them as they continue to grieve for Kit Wah.
In a recent interview, Adrian shared that the first two months after her mum's passing were the toughest for her and her father. “After the funeral, we had to wait to place my mother’s ashes in the columbarium. [This was] when the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic hit Hongkong, so my father and I were at home most of the time. That caused us to dwell on things a lot more because we weren’t able to leave our house.”
Now that both father and daughter are coping better with their loss, they have been visiting the columbarium frequently and are also spending a lot more quality time together. Adrian said, “I was worried that he didn’t have friends to talk to because he’s such a homebody [Even before my mother’s death], he liked to stay at home (…) This is why I’m so thankful to Michael Miu for taking the initiative to ask my dad out and to lend him a listening ear whenever he needs it.”
Meanwhile, Felix has found his own way of remembering his late wife. The 58-year-old, who used to look at old photos of him with Kit Wah on his phone, has progressed to printing these photos out and laminating each of them.
“My dad is very careful when he’s handling the photos, said Adrian. He even puts them in a photo album, and he’s done that for at least 10,000 photos. I can see how much he misses my mum.”
Felix and Kit Wah met on the set of TVB drama Yesterday’s Glitter in 1980 and started dating two years later. They tied the knot in 1988 and had their first and only child, Adrian, in 1990.
