Funny Viral Gif Shows Huge Difference Between Introverted Tony Leung & Outgoing Carina Lau

They say opposites attract, and Tony Leung and Carina Lau, who have been married for 13 years (and been together since 1989), are perfect examples of this.

Recently, a gif of the superstar couple attending a fashion show started going viral on social media, and no, it’s not just ‘cos the famously low-profile Tony rarely makes public appearances, much less together with his wife.

In the gif (see below), a super excited-looking Carina is seen strutting down the catwalk, clearly having the time of her life as she basks in the spotlight and attention.

Trailing closely behind the 55-year-old while holding on to her hand for dear life — not unlike a scared kid clinging onto his mum — is a super shy-looking Tony, 59, who seriously looks like he’d much rather be anywhere else but there.

It’s like the sequel to this hilarious pic of them with former Bond girl Olga Kurylenko.

As the pair gets to the end of the runway, Carina strikes a confident pose while Tony gives a sheepish and rather reluctant-looking wave before immediately turning around to get the heck out of there.

His rush to leave certainly doesn’t go unnoticed by Carina, who points at him with an amused expression on her face as if to say, “Look at this shy fella! I’d better accompany him off the stage.”

Needless to say, netizens were extremely tickled by this adorable — and to many introverts, very relatable — display, and the phrase “When someone with social anxiety meets a social butterfly” became a trending topic.

Carina, who assumed the role of Tony’s manager three years ago after he left Wong Kar Wai’s company, once said that she has to help him out when it comes to holding discussions and communicating with other people for work as it’s something he’s “not good at”.
