Godfrey Gao's sudden death at 35 has left his family, friends and fans in absolute grief. And one such person is his rumoured girlfriend, Bella Su.

The couple was first rumoured to be together after netizens spotted several pictures of Godfrey’s dog on Bella’s Instagram. However, they never once confirmed their relationship or posted pictures together, apart from this photo — a silhouette of them kissing at the beach — that Bella posted.

According to reports, Bella is a 22-year-old student and comes from a wealthy family. They met through former Taiwanese basketballer and Godfrey's good pal James Mao, and are said to have been in a stable relationship for three years. Sadly, Godfrey was supposed to be one of the groomsmen for James’s wedding today (Nov 29).

Last year, there were rumours that Godfrey and Bella were engaged, but Godfrey’s manager denied it, stating that Godfrey “has several good friends he talks to, but has not achieved the level of stability required to get engaged”.

After Godfrey's passing, there have been netizens who have offered stories about the couple like how they were both seen attending a friend’s party in Los Angeles earlier this year and how the late star was in the midst of helping his girlfriend move back to Taiwan so that they could live together.

But Bella has remained silent until today when she changed her IG profile description: “Whatever we are... You and I will always collide.

According to reports, Bella is now in China together with Godfrey's family to bring his body back to Taipei.

In James's latest IG post, which was dedicated to his late friend, he uploaded a group pic of him with his now-wife Tiffany Lo and Bella and Godfrey. The photo has further confirmed that Bella and Godfrey were indeed a couple. Or were at least going on double dates.

But it's James' heart-wrenching caption that has us in tears.

“I don’t really know where to begin. I’ve been trying to gather my thoughts for the past two days, but anytime I try to write anything I break down in tears… You were the most genuine person I knew, even when you talked to strangers and they would just be shocked you would talk to them and be so down to earth. I could tell you anything and be straightforward about it without your judgement… Tomorrow’s my big day and you’re not here. I don’t know how this pain is gonna stop, realising [that] I’m not gonna see you again. You just told me a few days ago about a big dinner that was supposed to happen tonight and I was so happy for you… I have a ton of stories and pics that I’ll keep as a memory of you. I’ve heard more and more stories from people these two days about your kindness to them and I’m not surprised. You’ll always have a deep place in my heart, and you’re truly irreplaceable. I’ll miss you forever and I love you bro,” James wrote.
