Has Gong Li finally found her happily ever after? The 53-year-old Chinese actress has had a tumultuous love life. There was her very public eight-year affair with Chinese director Zhang Yimou, who was then married to his now ex-wife. And let's not forget her 13-year marriage to Singaporean businessman Ooi Hoe Seong, which ended in divorce in 2010. In 2017, Gong Li started dating the now-71-year-old French composer and musician Jean-Michel Jarre. Though the couple have yet to confirm the rumours, it's said that they got married earlier this year.

It's also not the first walk down the aisle too for Jean-Michel who has been married three times, including a 20-year marriage to English actress Charlotte Rampling.

Jean-Michel recently made an appearance on a Chinese talk show, where the host managed to get the famously private Frenchman to talk about his personal life. She got the ball rolling by saying that she knew he “married one of the most famous Chinese people in the world”.

“I wasn’t expecting this one,” said Jean-Michel in English while the audience broke out in laughter. Though he neither denied nor confirmed the host’s statement, he went on to talk about how he had a connection with China and also gushed about Gong Li.

“China has become my other half, be it in my musical career or personal life,” declared Jean-Michel.

So married already lah.

He then continued to talk about the star: “I've known Gong Li for a very long time. And I know how she is like as a person. She is very talented and she represents the modern Chinese woman.

We're not sure how Gong Li will take to her hubby singing her praises, but if it were us, we would have collapsed on the floor right there and then from all the swooning.

That's not all. Jean-Michel also took the opportunity to promote Gong Li's latest film, telling the hosts that she’ll be playing a real-life volleyball coach, who he called one of China's heroines .

Just like his wife, we're sure.
