Hawick Lau and Yang Mi have been divorced for almost two years, but there's still a lot of talk about their relationship. And it mostly involves their six-year-old daughter, Noemie.

Yang Mi is reportedly furious with Hawick for considering making an appearance on a reality show with Noemie. The actress is fiercely protective of her daughter, and has shielded her from the media whenever they're out in public together.

The 34-year-old has mentioned in previous interviews that she would rather get “beaten to death” or “remove my make-up in front of a camera 10,000 times” than have her daughter be exposed to public scrutiny through TV shows.

But it seems like she's on a different page from Hawick. Last year, Hawick attended an annual dinner held by Noemie’s school, where father an daughter sang a duet on stage. The event, which was covered by the media, led to Noemie’s face getting splashed all over tabloids.

Since then, Hawick has been spotted multiple times picking her up from school. He’s apparently made zero effort in stopping the media attention, and Noemie has since been subjected to very cruel and unnecessary criticism about her looks.

All this reportedly caught the eye of a reality show producer, who extended an invitation to Hawick to go on the show with Noemie. Initial reports claimed that the 45-year-old actor was “leaning towards saying yes”, which sparked a huge argument with Yang Mi.

The actor has since clarified that all that speculation is baseless. “I’ve never considered appearing on such a show with my daughter,” he said. “I’m not at odds with my former wife [and] all I want is for my daughter to have a happy life.”
