Earlier this month, Hebe Tien was asked to compensate her former label HIM Entertainment because she had performed, without permission, 16 S.H.E songs that they own the rights to.
After lying low for over two weeks, Hebe finally spoke to the media at a December 29 event. When asked about how the legal battle is shaping up, she said: “I’ve always refrained from commenting on personal matters. That also applies for the issue that you’re asking about (…) I will not divulge any details.”

The 37-year-old was then asked about how she’s dealing with the case, to which she said: “Everyone experiences ups and downs in their lives. I’m thankful enough to have good friends by my side through them all.”
The copyright issue has become a big talking point among S.H.E fans since the trio are celebrating their 20th year anniversary this year. Netizens are now worried that Selina, Hebe and Ella would not be able reach a compromise with their former label, which reportedly trademarked the group’s name years ago.
S.H.E was signed to HIM for 17 years until their respective contracts ended in 2018.

Hebe was also asked if S.H.E has made plans for next year, to which she shared, “We don’t have a concrete plan yet. We’re just hoping that we will find an opportunity to perform together. We’re confident we can make something happen.”
Reporters then asked if they would be willing to change the group's name should their former label refuse to give in. “As long as the three of us are together, anything is possible,” Hebe said.
