Japanese singer Masako Mori, 62, announced her retirement from showbiz two years ago but her fans are still crazy over her. So crazy, in fact, she had to seek out the help of the police to handle an overzealous fan.

Recently, Japanese media outlets alleged that Masako was in a relationship with a male fan. The fan, who was referred to as Mr A, is reportedly in his 40s, and reportedly first came into contact with Masako at a concert in 2018.

From then on, the fan reportedly volunteered to work for Masako for free, manning the merchandise booth at her concerts.

It was alleged that Masako and the male fan then got closer to each other, and developed a romantic relationship.

According to these reports, they would often meet at Mr A's apartment, or backstage at Masako's concerts. Masako was also allegedly planning on moving in with the fan after announcing her retirement from showbiz.

The reports have caused a huge uproar in Japan.

However, Masako has since denied the reports. According to the singer, while she did entertain Mr A at her apartment once, the two of them have never had a physical relationship. She also pointed out that Mr A was once suicidal, and had emotional difficulties.

According to Masako, their relationship deteriorated after she announced her retirement in 2019, and she gradually distanced herself from Mr A.

However, in February this year, she was stalked and harassed by Mr A, causing her to make a police report. Eventually, Mr A promised to stop contacting Masako after he was warned by the police.
