Jay Chou Lashes Out At The Taipei Arena After His Request To Hold His Concert There Was Denied
Nobody puts Jay Chou in a corner.
You would think that whatever Jay Chou wants, Jay Chou gets. But apparently not. The superstar who is holding his Carnival World Tour to commemorate his 20th year in showbiz was recently dealt a rare setback when his request to hold his Taiwan concerts at the Taipei Arena (aka the Little Giant Egg) at the second half of 2020 was denied.
And he didn’t take to the news well. Jay went online and posted a series of photos on IG where he expressed his unhappiness with the Taipei Arena, which is known in Chinese as the ‘Little Giant Egg’.
“To be honest, big brother never likes to post unhappy things on IG. Anyway, I’ll be deleting this after a while ha ha,” Jay wrote. In case you don’t know, Jay often refers to himself as ‘big brother’ to his fans.
In one of the photos, which he has since deleted from his main feed, Jay wrote: “The Little Giant Egg also denied Eason (Chan). They even denied Mayday. What’s the point of having this Giant Egg around?” The post was also liked by Mayday’s frontman Ashin.
“Big brother wants to sing in his hometown, do I need your approval, Little Giant Egg? I have so many die-hard fans, do you think you can fit them all?” Jay wrote on another one of the pics.
“Don’t worry, big brother doesn’t care about the Little Giant Egg,” he ranted in yet another story. He also beckoned his fans to not insist that he hold his Taiwan concert at the Taipei Arena. “If the Little Giant Egg doesn’t let me sing, there are a lot of other places in Taiwan where I can sing… like the Big Giant Egg,” he added, along with two laughing with tears emoji.
Jay’s fans then tried to appease the star by telling him in the comments sections to not get angry, to which he replied: “I’m not angry. I’m just throwing a tantrum.” Jay also replied to another comment, writing: “Actually this is old news but I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t make some noise.”
