Jaycee Chan Says He And Jackie Chan’s Interests Are “Aligned” Now That They Are Staying Home
Interestingly, Jaycee has been in Los Angeles since the start of the year while Jackie is in Hongkong.
When Jackie Chan turned 66 on April 7, there was no party. Because of the COVID-19 outbreak — or maybe he now has a phobia of the word 'party' after the huge controversy that erupted after he was seen partying with Hongkong police officers in February — Jackie spent his birthday at home in Hongkong with his wife '70s screen goddess Lin Fengjiao.
Wait, but where was his son Jaycee?
According to Jaycee, he had flown to Los Angeles earlier this year, before COVID-19 had spread to the United States. When the situation worsened in the US, the 37-year-old made the decision to remain in LA as he felt that there would be a higher probability of him being infected if he were to make the long journey home.
And because of this, Jaycee was unable to celebrate his dad's birthday in person. Instead, Jaycee wished his father a happy birthday via video call. Jaycee also shared that they just had a normal conversation, where they bonded over movies.
“Now that everyone’s staying at home, [our interests] are aligned. He likes to watch videos online, just like me. So we started talking about movies, there’s a lot of nice movies these days,” he said.
Jaycee also shared that Jackie doesn’t leave the house these days, apart from going to his company to record public service announcements encouraging the public to adopt anti-COVID-19 behaviour.
