JJ Lin has come a long way since his showbiz debut 17 years ago. Not only is the 39-year-old now one of the biggest stars in Mandopop, but he is also a successful towkay and is raking in the big bucks. However, throughout his singing career, one thing has remained constant — his hair.

And that seems to have led to some hair-raising speculations that his crowning glory is actually a wig.

Say what?

Apparently, those rumours began swirling after netizens pointed out that JJ has been styling his hair the same way, with his fringe combed over his forehead, since forever.

A few days ago, while chatting with netizens during a live broadcast, the topic somehow drifted to his hair. Eager to prove that his tresses are indeed the real deal, JJ, who was wearing a black cap, immediately removed it, turned towards the camera and began tugging at his hair.

“Does my hair look like a wig? Why do you think my hair is a wig? Is it because it is thick and luscious?” he asked.

“My hair is real, wigs do not have bangs,” he emphasised.

The clip soon went viral and fans were amused by JJ’s no-chill reaction.

Some called him “silly”, while others replied the singer with comments like “It’s because your hairstyle really looks like a wig , “Because you have never changed your hairstyle”, and “The quality of your hair is really good”.

But hey, at least now we all know, right?
