Korean Singer IU Saved A Struggling Business From Closing With Just An IG Story
Power lah.
Oh, the power of social media. According to reports, Korean singer IU managed to save a pottery business that “had not received any orders for the past 12 months” with just one picture.
The 28-year-old singer had posted a picture of her lunch, a baked pumpkin, on her IG Story earlier this week. And it just so happened that she’d used a plate from the pottery shop for her lunch.
Although IU did not tag the shop in her post, some of her 20 million Instagram followers managed to ID the shop. Orders from fans soon started pouring in, with the owner taking to the shop’s Instagram page shortly after to thank IU.
“Palette plate, the first plate of [our shop] that started in 2018 was featured on IU’s Instagram Story! Thanks to you, there are lots of enquiries coming in for us, [before that] we had not received any orders for the past 12 months,” wrote the owner.
The owner went on to share that they’d originally made the plate with IU in mind. Palette is the name of IU’s 2017 studio album.
“Thank you for reviving my tiny dream that was about to go out of business. I’m really happy to see that my pottery is being used so prettily,” the owner went on to share.
Isn’t it just the sweetest when social media is used for good?
