This Miss Hongkong Contestant’s Ex Killed Himself After She Allegedly Cheated On Him Before Dumping Him
His suicide note will break your heart.
Miss Hongkong 2020 contestant Jessica Liu, 24, is now one of the most-talked about women in Hongkong after her ex-boyfriend Sam Cheung killed himself following their breakup. He had left behind a suicide note that painted a very bad of picture of the beauty queen.
Sam, who was 27, jumped off a building on December 2. His younger sister told Hongkong media that prior to this incident, he’s tried killing himself in the same way “five or six times” in the past few months, but she or his buddies would manage to find him in the nick of time. She shared that he seemed “normal” the night before his death, and only realised something was wrong when she found his suicide note on his computer.
He wrote, “I’ve gone through becoming unemployed, betrayed, dumped and heartbroken since September. Everything that I treasured: the girlfriend I love the most, along with my career, disappeared at the same time.”
Sam continued, “I don’t know what I’m living for when I wake up every day. I jolt awake drenched in cold sweat and my heart racing because of all the nightmares I’ve had due to all the emotional instability. Life is really tiring, and I don’t want to continue [living] any more.”
Calling the breakup “the biggest failure and torment of [his] life”, he then addressed Jessica. “Just thinking about not having you as my other half, getting married to someone else and having kids with someone that’s not you makes me want to give up. I can’t find any reason to keep living. I’m thankful to my friends and family for being by my side for the past few months, but I’m no longer young and there are a lot of things that I can’t get over no matter how much they tried to console me.”
“The mere thought of this person never coming back to me, getting married and having kids with someone else is excruciatingly painful.”
He also brought up her alleged affair with TVB actor Danny Hung in his letter. “A month after you joined [Miss Hongkong 2020], I lost everything. No matter how frustrated I was at the time, you weren’t there by my side. You lied to me and hid the truth from me. You lied to me countless times to be with someone else. When you did all of this, did you think about the effect it would have on me? (…) Perhaps this is the attention that you’ve always wanted. Your wish of being noticed has finally come true (…) I’m not your whole world any more.”
Sam’s younger sister confirmed the tragic news on his Instagram with a short message. She wrote, “My brother is no longer here. Thank you for all your concern. I’ll inform you about the details of his funeral. From his younger sister.”
Sam’s sister told Hongkong media that she tried to reach out to Jessica following his death, but the beauty queen left the message on read. Jessica is also said to have blocked Sam’s sister’s number. She has yet to respond to Hongkong media’s queries at press time.
