Times are tough what with the ongoing COVID-19 situation. And things are no different for the stars, many of whom have had to call off concerts, postpone filming projects, delay movie premieres, or shut down their businesses.

In the meantime, celebrities have been spending their time away from work in different ways, from cooking at home to going on vacations to helping out the needy. However, one of the most surprising activities we’ve read so far involves Hongkong actress Nancy Wu.

On February 28, the 38-year-old shared a photo of herself cradling a newborn baby, whom she revealed is her younger brother’s child, and happily announced that she has been promoted to be an aunt.

In her caption, she joked that she’s managed to find a “part-time job” as a “confinement nanny” during this period of “no work and no income”. Because of the lack of acting gigs, Nancy, who is a two-time TVB Anniversary Awards Best Actress winner, also admitted that she’s been relying on her savings to get by.

But is it enough?

2 of 4 No more fancy vacations for the time being

According to Hongkong media reports, Nancy was recently spotted leaving a restaurant in the Tseung Kwan O area carrying what looks like a box of cakes and a bag of pastries, before getting into her car and driving to a commercial building on Lockhart Road.

When she got down from the vehicle, she carefully took out the food, but appeared to be a little lost and confused as she kept looking around before finally making her way upstairs. This whole scenario led some to speculate that she might be helping to deliver food in her spare time, perhaps even for some spare income.

3 of 4 Seems a little far-fetched, though

However, Nancy has sinced cleared the air through a phone interview with Hongkong media, saying that she has not taken up a new job as a delivery woman. “I was just visiting a friend and decided to bring some snacks with me,” she explained.

That said, she confirmed that she is on a break because all her upcoming projects had to be pushed back because of COVID-19. She also reassured everyone that she has enough savings and that money is not an issue for her.

When the news came out, some netizens, like kaypoh aunties, said that Nancy should be taking this opportunity to go out and find a boyfriend. Her last public relationship with music producer Terry Chan ended in 2016, and Nancy was later romantically linked with Hongkong actors like Ruco Chan and Owen Cheung, rumours she denied.
