Netizen Claims Faye Wong Has A 2m-Tall Statue Of Buddha On The Balcony Of Her S$17.5mil Apartment
Some netizens think the imposing statue poses a safety hazard.
Like boyfriend Nicholas Tse, pop diva Faye Wong owns several properties in China and Hongkong.
Recently, one of her homes in Beijing was thrust into the spotlight after a netizen claimed that the singer, a devout Buddhist, has a huge statue of Buddha on the balcony of that apartment.
According to the netizen, who says that she has to pass by the condo on her way to work every day, the imposing statue can be seen from a distance away and is on an eighth floor unit in Smart Hero-Central Park Plaza. She also estimated its height to be about two metres tall.
While Faye has been called “a pious Buddhist” by netizens after photos of the statue went viral, there were other netizens who found the figure “scary” and also raised their concerns about it being a safety hazard.
Some netizens also questioned if that is even Faye’s apartment to begin with.
However, a netizen, who claimed to live nearby, insisted that the unit is indeed Faye's.
“It's really her home… Of course, this is just one of her many properties,” wrote the fan.
Faye reportedly owns two units in Smart Hero-Central Park Plaza.
Launched in 2016, the high-end residential complex, located in Beijing’s Chaoyang Park in the Central Business District, is one of the leading green building projects in China.
Units at the luxury condo are said to cost at least HK$100 million (S$17.5 million).
Faye, who is vegetarian, is known to be a devout Buddhist and has recorded many Buddhist songs over the years. She has reportedly influenced those around her, including close friend Carina Lau and boyfriend Nic, to become Buddhists too.
When the couple reconciled in 2014, they reportedly attended a religious pilgrimage to India together.
