Netizens Think 16-Year-Old Karen Mok Looks Like Her Character In The God Of Cookery
Other netizens praised the “ageless goddess” for still looking the same after 35 years.
Recently, TVB posted an old video of Hongkong singer Karen Mok that was filmed during a visit to Japan when she was in Secondary 4.
According to the caption, she was one of 10 “outstanding” female students selected for the cultural exchange trip.
In the clip, Karen is seen saying that while she had travelled to Japan with her family before, the things that she got to see, do, and learn during this trip “couldn't be bought with ordinary tourist money”, showing remarkable maturity for her young age.
The young Karen’s braces and short, boyish hairstyle sparked a lot of discussion among netizens.
Some not-so-nice ones said that she looked a little “frumpy” (hey, ever heard of the awkward teenage years?) and that she reminded them of how she looked in classic ‘90s Stephen Chow comedy The God of Cookery.
Got so bad or not?
On the other hand, there were those who pointed out that aside from her hairstyle and mouth full of metal, Karen’s face doesn’t seem to have changed that much after over three decades, and they praised the 51-year-old for being an “ageless goddess”.
