2021 started out with a bang for fans of massively popular K-drama Crash Landing on You when it was revealed that stars Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin are dating in real life.

South Korean news agency Dispatch was the first to break the news as part of their annual ‘New Year’s Couple’ announcement, which included secretly snapped photos of Ye Jin getting into Hyun Bin’s car.

It didn’t take long for the actors’ respective agencies to confirm the reports. In their statements, they shared that the couple got to know each other through their acting projects — they were also in the 2018 thriller, The Negotiation — and romance blossomed between them after CLOY wrapped. Talk about a happily ever after!

According to the agencies, Hyun Bin and Ye Jin, both 38, have been together since March last year. Guess we now know why Ye Jin went on that Instagram ‘liking’ spree on photos of herself with her beau back in June.

After the ‘BinJin’ news made headlines, an old photo of a six-year-old Ye Jin with her family, which she originally shared on a variety show in 2012, resurfaced on the internet. Back then, she declared that she is attracted to men who look like her dad, which is interesting now ‘cos netizens actually think that Hyun Bin does bear a resemblance to Ye Jin’s father, at least in that picture.

Fans also pointed out that Ye Jin was always pretty even as a young child. In fact, the entire family was praised for their good looks.

Hyun Bin and Ye Jin’s dating news has certainly been well-received — for starters, Dispatch’s Instagram report about them has amassed over 2 million ‘likes’ at the time of writing.

Ye Jin also shared an adorably embarrassed post saying that she is grateful to have met “such a good person” (aww…) and that she will do her best to nurture the relationship (double aww…), which has since garnered almost 1.8 million ‘likes’.

Well, now that they are officially an item, there’s actually a very real possibility of that happening some time in the future… although we sincerely hope they don’t end up like a certain other high-profile reel-to-real K-drama couple.
